DIGITAL WORK
An early adopter with experience in hands-on website planning and development and digital projects of all sorts, Stewart Ikeda has worked passionately in the online realm since circa 1989. In fact, his first "web works" weren't "web" at all -- they were FTP and Gopher!
Since then, he has managed expansive networks of content sites, blogs and online communities, implemented digital advertising and social media campaigns, and managed relations with international, third-party technology vendors for several organizations. He played a lead role in building the successful, diversity recruitment e-business and multicultural community network at IMDiversity.com (1999-2011), twice named "Best Equal Opportunity Site" by Yahoo! Internet Life Magazine.
He has additionally worked with small businesses, schools and nonprofits on a wide range of digital marketing and hosting planning issues ranging from SEO, SEM, analytics, PCI compliance, website hosting, CMS selection and setup (Joomla, Drupal, WordPress, Squarespace, Wix, Weebly, Adobe Business Catalyst), hack recovery and reputation management, content marketing, email promotions, rich media integration, VOIP, and more.
Combining his interests in technology and social justice, Ikeda has also researched and published on issues pertaining to online identity and bullying, hacktivism, multicultural education, and the digital divide in publications such as IMDiversity and such conferences as Race in Digital Space 2.0.
